Neon has been illuminating downtown Shelton, WA since the early part of the 20th century and its glow has become dimmer in the last few decades. When researching the history of Railroad Ave. and downtown, it is inevitable to run across photos of wonderful signage that once not only advertised the businesses they served, but also gave personality to this classic self sufficient town. It is important to preserve these fingerprints to the past and bring back the glowing soul of downtown Shelton.

Re-illuminate 5 historic neon signs on w. Railroad Ave. in downtown Shelton, WA. Each sign will be

repainted to historic color, NEON glass repaired, and electrical to signs inspected and or updated.  With the help of the public, volunteers, and local businesses, this project will give way to a refreshed sense of community and lead to future projects that will help maintain the spirit of this classic home town.

UPDATE: all 5 signs have been finished.  New signs and projects are currently in the works.  Please continue to make donations to the Mason County Historical Society to help with new neon projects and maintenance assistance for the current signs. Thanks!
